Simon Salema

Simon Salema, founder and managing director of Principal Advisors, has significant experience in banking and finance and in the legal sector focusing on corporate and financial law for over a decade in Central and Eastern Europe and in Eastern Africa during which time he has worked with Norton Rose Fulbright, Raiffeisen Bank International, and Société Générale. He attended high school in Tanzania and graduated with an International Baccalaureate (Bilingual Diploma) and has studied Business Administration, European and International Business Law, and Law with Business Management at universities in Austria and the United Kingdom.

During the past several years he has worked as a consultant focused on advising individuals and companies investing in real estate companies and financing real estate projects and having had a previous individual association with our firm, he formalized his relationship with us into a partnership with the signing of a regional representation agreement for East Africa.

As the regional representative for East Africa he is responsible for the development of our ongoing and new projects in hospitality and tourism real estate in the countries comprising the Horn of Africa, the East African Community and Eastern DRC, and the East African islands of the Indian Ocean. In addition his role includes fostering closer cooperation between our other regional partners especially those representing us in the Maghreb and in West Africa in line with HAM's strategy of sustainable hospitality and tourism development across the continent.
